Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program

For Healthcare Professionals

COURSE LED BY DR. KARIN SCHIFF & DR. KATHY STEPIEN

STARTS OCTOBER 17, 2020

MBSR is an 8-week evidence-based program developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Stress Reduction Clinic in the 1970s and is one of the most studied mindfulness programs.

MBSR is an intensive secular mindfulness program that uses a combination of mindfulness meditation, body awareness, mindful movement, and exploration of patterns of behavior, thinking, feeling and action.

Mindfulness is not about sitting quietly in a monastery in faraway lands. It’s about being here now, present in this moment, with curious awareness.

Research has shown mindfulness to reduce stress, and help with anxiety, depression, cardiovascular health, and pain among other health indicators. Note: These are not promised results, but are representative of others' experiences.

Some other conditions which have shown improvement with MBSR and/or mindfulness practices include:
o Sleep Disorders
o Cancer
o Headaches
o Asthma
o Blood Pressure
o Diabetes
o Substance Abuse
o Chronic Fatigue
o PTSD
o Panic Attacks

Are you struggling in medicine? Has Covid pushed you to the limits? MBSR is proven to help healthcare professionals!

Evidence shows that this course reduces clinician burnout, improves well-being, enhances meaning, and leads to more patient-centered care.
